The lake district is one of the loveliest vacation spots in England and holidaying in one of the many cottages in the lake district is more popular then ever before this year in Cumbria. However, if you go during the high season, and stay on and around Lake Windermere, it can be an extremely crowded place where its beauty may be compromised by flocking tourists… If you like crowds that’s fine, but if not, you can either go during non-peak times or else branch out a bit. Non peak times are ok if your schedule is flexible but many people don’t have that option, so what I prefer is to go to Coniston Water instead of staying on Windermere.

Coniston is every bit as pretty as Windermere but for some reason seems to have fewer visitors. Coniston has many items of interest, such as the home of the artist John Ruskin and the lake was the site of several speed records that were set by Malcolm Campbell and his son Donald. Donald was tragically killed during one of the attempts to set a new record. In addition, the popular children’s series, Swallows and Amazons, by Arthur Ransome was based on many features on and around Coniston. The island called Wildcat Island in the books is based on Peel Island in Consiton, and it’s possible to swim to Peel Island from the shore, or if a person is feeling less adventuresome, perhaps convince a local youth to ferry them over in a small boat.

The water is very cold most of the year, so swimming might not be the best choice! In addition to the lake, there are several peaks around the district that afford wonderful hiking trails, and the views from the tops are lovely (unless the fog has obscured everything of course). Fog on the fells can come in quickly and cause the hiker to become disoriented so it’s important to be aware of the weather and to be prepared in case of fog.

There are of course many colourful and interesting shops and restaurants in the area, but not all are open year round, so if you are there during the off season it’s best to check ahead if you have a particular spot in mind. There are also many lovely Bed and Breakfast establishments, many directly on the water and very reasonably priced, but the best digs have to be lake district cottages as these offer peace and a place to escape the other travellers. As an added treat, for the fans of Swallows and Amazons, the house that Arthur Ransome used as a basis for the farm where the Swallows stayed in the book is an actual farm which operates as a Bed and Breakfast on the bank of Coniston Water.

It can be difficult to choose between hotels in Leeds City Centre as there are many to choose from. However many hotels do not feel like a home away from home and do not offer the comforts that these Residence 6 apartments offer.

Residence 6 offer fully serviced apartments which are three times bigger than a suite in one of the regular luxury hotels in Leeds. This space offers you the time to unwind and relax during your stay. Also if you are travelling with children the added room is a bonus, as they will have room to play in. Equally if you are travelling in a group the 2 bedroom apartments are a great option, as you are able to have your own room but are still able to stay with your group. One bedroom apartments are also available for you to book if you did not need the extra space.

There are many other luxuries which will make your stay with Residence 6 an unforgettable one. The Molton Brown beauty products in the bathroom will have anyone impressed. The robes are also a nice touch to make you feel even more like this is your home away from home.

The apartments are close to all the trendy bars and restaurants around Leeds which make it an ideal place to stay. You will be able to immerse yourself into city life immediately. The apartments make you feel like this really is your little retreat in the city which you can escape to whenever you feel like it.

Hotels in Leeds City Centre do not often feel like home, however remembering to stay with Residence 6 will make you feel right at home and will have you coming back time and time again.

It could be a hard decision as to where to spend your apparently brief vacation. It would be good if you got to work for just three weeks and get your holiday for the rest of the year, but the excruciating fact is that it’s vice versa. This is how come it’s so significant to know where it is where you really would like to go, and what is it that you might see and do when you arrive there.

England is a must if you’re to expend your vacations in the United Kingdom. It’s a country abundant in culture and fine architecture. With historical landmarks such as the Stonehenge, the Clock Tower, British Parliament, Roman Baths, the Tower of London, and Buckingham Palace, it appears as though you would have to set apart a whole digital cam memory card for England itself. Here, you would as well get to see the stoic guards at Buckingham Palace that won’t seem to move regardless what you do.

England Vacation Rentals are in huge supply so you won’t have a problem obtaining a good place to stay. If ever your U.K. holidays were to fall into the month of August, then it would be a big error to leave out the world’s most happening festival. It carries the record of being the world’s biggest arts festivals. The term Edinburgh festival is in reality an aggregation of a number of festivals that occur in August at the same place.

Everyone’s dream vacation is a European tour. Europe is the ultimate travel destination. There are lots of sights to visit, most of which are historically significant and easily accessible. You can take a leisurely walk, dine al fresco or sit in the park while enjoying the sight and sound of the city. Get to experience world famous events such as bull fighting.

Visiting any European country promises a full itinerary. You can drive around Barcelona, Milan or Paris and be in awe with the different works of art scattered all over the place — sculptures by the masters and modern architecture. Historical structures are also admiringly preserved.

You can immerse yourself in the continent’s rich culture one day, and enjoy the breathtaking beaches the next. If shopping is your therapy, then visit Europe. It is the cradle of fashion civilization. The people here breathe and speak fashion.

Maximize your vacation and grab the opportunity of educating yourself further. Visit as much museums as you can. This is where the most rare art collections are housed. If you are spiritual, you can visit Rome or Lourdes. Although these places are cramped with tourists, you will never feel that your belief is being commercialized.

You can never feel guilty splurging while vacationing in Europe. But having a tight budget is still no excuse for not enjoying the continent. Public transportation is cheap and back packing is a common occurrence. Accommodations are also traveller friendly. There are all kind of hotels that cater to back packers, socialites, group tourists, and family vacationers.

Do not deprive yourself of your dream vacation, visit Europe while you can.
