Hostels are intended for people who are looking for budget friendly accommodations who do not mind diminished privacy.  You should determine whether or not you are comfortable sleeping in a bunk bed surrounded by strangers with different sleeping habits and social attitude.  If you are not comfortable sharing a place with people you do not know, perhaps you should reconsider staying elsewhere.
