At Virgin Holidays, we believe amazing service should come as standard. That’s why Virgin Holiday’s magic touches are made available to all Virgin Holidays customers – not just the VIPs!

We realise that you want to make the most of being on holiday, so we came up with Check in, Chill out, so you can check in for your flight without leaving the beach…or bar. Airports are a drag. The holiday only really starts when you get to your destination. And if you’ve got kids, then airports are living nightmares. So, to perk up the airport experience, we came up with the VRoom. And when you’re on holiday, you want to make sure it’s as good as it can be. That’s where Virgin Holidays’ Concierge service comes in – a concierge actually tuned in to the buzz of your destination, not a guy in a suit on kick backs from rip-off restaurants. This belief is what sets Virgin Holidays apart from the competition. That’s why we actually encourage our customers to ‘Ask For the World’.

But how do you express that exclusive treatment in a single thought. What do Virgin Holidays offer that no-one else does? We think it can be described as…

“ROCKSTAR SERVICE”

It’s a level of care you’d normally associate with the glamour and excitement of the entertainment elite. Made available to every Virgin Holidays customer.

The Rockstar Service campaign is the latest creative expression of this belief. With Virgin Holidays, you can rest assured that you’ll get intuitive, imaginative typically brilliant twinkle-in-the-eye Virgin service, every single time you travel with us.

Whether you call it a backpack or a rucksack, they are all heavyweight canvas bags built to carry everything you need for you hiking trip. These are amazing inventions that have many pockets and adjustable straps to that they are convenient and can fit anyone. Most have pockets with zippers so that you will never loose anything and they can also be water resistant.

You can find them in just about any color but usually dark colors and camouflage. Some have loops where you can attach rain gear or that sweatshirt that you had to take off as your hike got strenuous. There are deluxe packs that are made of Hi Tech Nylon with extra padding for your shoulders.

For those campers who want to try something special, there are backpacks offering a stool combination. Just set it down and unfold the stool legs and you have an instant seat. For those interested in the military styles, there is a special forces assault pack that is done in black nylon. This one has a waist belt, internal secure system and a system for hydration. The European style Rucksacks also have zippered pockets and a pocketed lid with a waist belt that is two inches wide.

Finding and booking your vacation accommodation online is easy. But what most people forget to do, is compare the rates. You will probably be searching by area, finding a hotel near your destination, with the best accessibility. However, considering just how many hotels can be found in the majority of popular vacation destinations, you will have plenty of options that fit your criteria.

Using an online comparative site for accommodation rates should be apart of your vacation planning. Find the area and facilities you need, and then compare the hotels that suit your requirements. Finding the cheapest rates between five or even fifty accommodation options can save you big. Although the price difference may be small per night, it accumulates if you have an extended holiday. Use these websites to compare anything from budget hotels, to luxury resorts. Whether it’s an overall cheaper price per night, or a discounted rate or offer, you can save big if you take the time to compare.

Plenty of online websites offer this feature. Be sure you compare all your accommodation options before reserving your room. Getting the same quality hotel for a cheaper price means you’ll have extra cash to spend on your holiday. And that’s something we can all live with!

There is nothing quite like hitting the trail on a fresh summers’ morning. The air is crisp and the ground slightly damp due to the early morning dew. Hiking is a great sport to enjoy at a next to nothing cost. It presents a great opportunity for the whole family so spend some time together and a healthy way to experience the great outdoors.

Getting your hiking attire spot on is an important aspect of your hike to consider if you want to maximise your enjoyment, whilst eradicating safety concerns too.

Picking the right hiking gear can be a tricky process, and there is a definite gulf in quality available in the market place. There are some more-general tips to adhere to though to make the most of your choices.

It is always wise to wear a form of hat when hiking, especially when it is sunny. A hat provides adequate protection of the eyes from the glare of the sun, as well as keeping your head cool. There are some hats with side tassels which can protect the ears from sunburn too.

Footwear is also a vital area to consider and it is best to choose a pair which offer adequate whole-foot support which are study enough to withstand long walks on uneven and uncertain surfaces. Heavy duty cotton socks should also be worn to prevent blistering or skin aggravation.

Dependant on the climate you are hiking in, the number and style of upper body garments will vary. For warmer weathers, a light coloured t-shirt which will reflect the sun will be a safe choice, with the accompaniment of a lightweight fleece, in case the weather turns chilly. In colder climates a long sleeve shirt would suffice. Craghoppers have an extensive range of outdoor garments to suit any weather condition.

Should the hike be through any woodland area, it would be wise to protect yourself against the risk ticks, sharp branches and nettles by wearing rigid jeans of cargo pants.

Stay safe this hiking season and happy trails!

Organising a stag party is one freaking job! So many great ideas pile up but the key here is meeting practicality without cutting down on the fun part. A stag do works out better that way and tips do come handy, if it’s known which ideas to take and which to chuck out.

The toughest part is deciding upon the people to invite. Hence, it must start early. The first list should be made at least a month and a half prior to the big day, after which, scrutiny should follow. The ideal list must not stretch beyond fifteen to twenty good, old time mates.

Next comes the part to decide on the budget. There’s no problem if the soon-to-be-groom is a moneyed man; else, pullouts remain the only option. This is why the invitations are to be sent out only a few days before the stag night. Another way to deal with it is generating a common fund where everybody pools in an equal share. The amount shall depend upon what is planned for the agenda; if it’s a stag weekend being planned, the budget shall accordingly be higher than that of a stag night. It shall surge even more if it’s held away from the groom’s (and his friends’) hometown.

Let’s look at the activities: It’s not going to be an exorbitant amount if it’s only alcohol and a friendly game of poker; should the stag night strippers be included into the bill, then expect the budget to increase by another couple of thousand dollars. However, the only point to remember is that the strippers must come from a legitimate agency. If looking out for clean and healthy fun, then ideas stretch from playing golf to bungee jumping; from bicycle races to a day of fishing or even, driving expensive sports cars (on hire) on race tracks. It’s only limited by the power of imagination.

A stag night is incomplete without a proper gift for the groom. There are novelty stores that specialize in stag party gifts; whether you want to gift something that shall prove useful for his future life or would just heighten the essence of the night of vulgarity solely depends upon the group.

However, the whole idea behind a stag night revolves around one central point: That it must not be a bitter farewell to the bachelor-life; instead, it must be a celebration towards ending it gloriously.

If you are tired of paying exorbitant rates for staying connected over your cell phone while travelling abroad, here are good times for you. With an International Sim Card, you can save up to about fifty to seventy percent of your cell phone roaming bill that you used to pay before. This is real bonanza for frequent travellers.

There are many reasons why you should go for an international sim card. The international sim card providers cover most of the destinations all over the world. With destination specific international sim card, the first advantage is you get a local number of the country you wish to visit. Secondly, with a local number, the incoming call is free in most of the countries. Further, the billing is in simple itemised form and in your own currency. The best thing is, the delivery of your international sim card is done at your door step before you start travelling. GPRS is pre activated on the international sim card, so that you can stay connected over internet as well and the charges for the same are also reasonable.

So, wherever you are, the world is going to be even smaller with a international sim card.

And, you and your family would love the tourist attractions that France has to offer. Not only this, these holiday packages are especially catered to take care of the children and offer them engaging activities in the kids club so that you and your spouse can spend some quality time together. Not only this, these kids clubs enhance the overall personality of your children by helping them meet and spend time with children of same age groups, learn new things and play games, and even get introduced to a foreign language, French.

Not only this, when on family Holiday you can also rent a car and explore the various scenic locations in France. You can even visit some of the exclusive wineries of the country or indulge in water skiing or banana boating by renting a boat.

With a large spectrum of accommodation available these family holidays fit well within your budget. Therefore, you can choose from a campsite that is not only comfortable and safe, but is also largely popular with British, German, French and other tourists. What’s more, you can enjoy activities like playing golf in France too. Therefore undoubtedly France is a popular Family Tourist destination spot liked by one and all.

When travelling whether for business or vacation, you have to have your belongings packed properly. You wouldn’t want to wear wrinkled up clothes during business meetings or sight seeing. Having gooey stuff splattered all over your belongings could easily take hours to clean up. It could even leave indelible marks on your clothes. So here are some tips that are commonly used by experienced travellers.

In packing your clothes, use the rolling method. Neatly folding them, as you would usually do in putting in your closet, will not guarantee a wrinkle-free get-up. For shirts, lay each item down, fold back the sleeves, and then roll it. For pants, lay half of one pair on top of another, then carefully roll them up together. Rolling your clothes would less likely to leave crease in them.

Plastic zipper bags are essential in keeping your clothes from getting soiled. Use it for your toiletries. In case one of toiletries breaks or leaks, you are able to isolate the mess in just one container. Vitamins and other medications should be in a separate zipper bag. If you don’t have a shoe bag, you can use a large zipper bag instead. Crumple a newspaper and put it inside each shoe before bagging it, this method will prevent them from getting deformed.

Most importantly, take time in packing. Do not pack at the last minute. Make a check list as much as possible. Packing is a chore that requires planning and foresight. Taking time to do this will guarantee a hassle-free travel, if not preclude the possibility of leaving behind any of your travel essentials.
